Alice Mabel Olson
Grandmother
Alice Olson was my father's mother. This was probably her
confirmation picture, taken around 1910 when she was about
sixteen. During my childhood, Grandma Skoog lived in Palo Alto,
California, and visited our family in Seattle at Thanksgiving
most years. I have fond memories of her promising to "take you
to the cleaners" playing Rummy. Alice's parents immigrated to
the United States from Sweden and she was born in this country.
She was a piano teacher in Palo Alto.
