Richard Bruce Skoog
Father
My father was born in 1920. This is a college graduation picture
taken in 1942. He grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, with an older
brother, James, and a younger brother, Edward. Charles
Lindbergh's 1927 flight across the Atlantic inspired the Skoog
boys to all become aeronautical engineers. Dick and Jim were
enthusiastic downhill skiers and, until their mid-forties,
competitive ski jumpers.
