I've only briefly reviewed issues of The Mazama in the Mountaineers collection from the founding of the Mazamas in 1894 through 1941. The Mountaineers collection appears to contain only the "annual" issue (Number 12) published at the end of each year. I quickly skimmed these issues for information about skiing and didn't find much through 1941. So, most of the issues of The Mazama have not been reviewed yet by me.
